Perhaps the greatest measure of humankind is our capacity to care. Some struggle just to effectively care for themselves; others can project a sustaining influence far beyond the limits of their personal spheres. Maximizing one's capacity to care appears to correlate positively with finding joy, and this site represents one determined fellow's attempt to do both.

In a sincere effort to steer the investigation of our humanity toward those elements that unite us, I offer here a simple mechanism for objectively evaluating human behavior. We waste so much time arguing about what's good and bad in the world, trying to score points for individual interests in a bid to control the moral high ground. I propose, instead, that we work toward a shared interest, with a common standard — life — as the final arbiter. Do the actions we take support and sustain life, or do they speed our end? The answer to this question, though not always easy to derive, is not a matter of opinion; it is quantifiable, a matter of science, independent of creed and culture. The "big idea" I outline here is simply a tool to translate the persistent moral arguments into an impartial universal language, a language of life, that unites instead of divides.

In a world overrun with exceptional individuals, the future hinges on our ability to move forward together.
